Visual Measurement Guide

Use these visual references to better understand where to place the measuring tape for waist, hip, inseam, and other key measurements.

How to Measure

Stand naturally with your arms at your sides. Use a soft measuring tape, keeping it straight, level, and snug — not too loose or tight.

Chest / Bust

Measure under your arms around the fullest part of your chest or bust, keeping the tape horizontal.

Waist

Measure around your natural waistline, usually slightly above or below the belly button.

Hips

With feet together, measure around the fullest part of your hips, keeping the tape horizontal.

Shoulder

Measure across your back from one shoulder point to the other.

Arm Length

Bend your elbow 90 degrees and place your hand on your hip. Measure from the center back of the neck, across the shoulder and elbow, down to the wrist.

Torso Length

Measure from the top of the shoulder down through the fullest part of the bust to the crotch area.

Rise

Measure from the inner thigh seam to the top of the waistband. This tells where the pant sits on your waist.

Inseam

Measure from the crotch seam down to the bottom of the leg or hem.

Outseam

Measure from the top of the waistband down to the hem of the pants.

EDITOR'S NOTES

The Ashans Kimono is an oversized sculptural layering piece designed to envelop the body with texture, movement, and presence. Inspired by the beauty of transformation, the garment balances raw organic materials with intricate handcrafted detailing.

Constructed from manipulated and processed cotton, the surface carries a rich, tactile quality that feels both ancient and contemporary. The fabric is intentionally shaped and treated to create depth and character, giving each piece its own unique identity.

At the center back, an intricately hand-sewn leather Japanese character meaning "Faith" forms the focal point of the design. Carefully crafted and individually applied, it serves as a reminder to trust one's path, embrace the unknown, and move through life with courage and conviction. The symbol transforms the garment into more than a piece of clothing—it becomes a wearable expression of intention, belief, and inner strength.

Generous proportions and fluid draping allow the kimono to be worn effortlessly as a statement outer layer over both everyday and ceremonial attire.

Each Gelareh Designs piece is individually crafted upon order. Production timelines are separate from shipping and typically range between 2–4 weeks.

Shipping
We offer free worldwide shipping. Delivery typically takes 4–7 business days once dispatched.
Please note that import duties and local taxes are not included and are the responsibility of the recipient.

Exchanges
Due to the made-to-order nature of our pieces, exchanges are not standard and are accepted only under specific conditions.

We work closely with each client to confirm sizing prior to production. For this reason, we cannot accept exchanges based on incorrect measurements provided at the time of order.

Exchange requests may be considered in the following cases:

* Manufacturing defects or damage

All requests must be submitted within 7 days of receiving the piece and are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

For context, I’m a slim male who prefers fitted, feminine/androgynous silhouettes. This was part of my second order from Gelareh Designs, after being very happy with my first order, and it looks exactly like the photos.

The leather is soft, the raised detailing feels soft but sturdy, and the whole piece is clearly very high quality. The inside feels like a natural, high-quality fabric lining, so it is comfortable to wear for long periods rather than just being something that only looks good in photos.

The fit is excellent and really hugs the torso. It feels almost like a second skin, which is exactly what I was hoping for. Because this is such a close-fitting piece, I really appreciated that the team checked in for extra sizing information, including photos showing my chest and waist measurements, to help make sure the fit would work well. That kind of support makes a big difference when ordering made-to-order fitted pieces.

It also pairs perfectly with the matching Arctora Leggings, and I’m extremely happy with it.
